Phnom Penh, March 26, 2011 AKP –National Assembly President Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin has told the outgoing Thai ambassador that we must do our best so that the border dispute does not spread to other fields.
“We must increase our cooperation, trade exchange and diplomatic ties, and provide favorable conditions to the peoples of both countries,” said Samdech Heng Samrin in a meeting here on Friday with outgoing Thai Ambassador H.E. Prasas Prasasvinitchai.
He further praised the Thai diplomat for his active efforts in fulfilling his mission despite the border dispute between the two countries.
For his part, H.E. Prasas Prasasvinitchai thanked the Cambodian government officials and people for their cooperation for the success of his mission. He also recalled the good relations between the two legislative bodies.
On the same day, the national assembly president warmly received Cambodian newly-appointed Ambassador to Myanmar, H.E. Seang Bunvuth.
On the occasion, Samdech Heng Samrin recommended the ambassador to do his utmost to strengthen and expand the ties of friendship, solidarity and cooperation in all fields with the host country and other ambassadors.
He also asked H.E. Seang Bunvuth to pay attention to disseminate the royal government’s policies, national culture, art and tradition on the international arena, and to attract foreign investors and tourists to Cambodia. –AKP
