Phnom Penh, March 28, 2011 AKP –Cambodia will host the 10th ATF Taekwondo Championship 2011 from April 7-9 at the Olympic Stadium, Phnom Penh.
Altogether 281 contestants from seven ASEAN countries, of them 54 are from Cambodia, will be competing for the 286 medals, according to Hem Samnang, Secretary General of Cambodian Taekwondo Federation at a press conference held here last Friday.
Three ASEAN countries, including Indonesia, Myanmar and Brunei, will not join the tournament sponsored by two private companies –Ezecom and Ford, said Mr. Vath Chamroeun, Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia.
The players will compete in the WTF category (World Taekwondo Federation of South Korea). –AKP
